PT Telkom Presents DILo in Padang City

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) officially presents Digital Innovation Lounge (DILo) in Padang City on Thursday (8/2/2018), to accelerate digitalization in West Sumatera Province.

The DILo Padang, which became the 18th DILo, was attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rudiantara, Vice Governor of West Sumatra Nasrul Abit, Speaker of West Sumatra DPRD Hendra Irwan Rahim, and Director of Digital & Strategic Portfolio Telkom David Bangun.

David said so far there are many start-up community and digitalpreneur successful Minang bloody. Call it Fery Unardi founder of Traveloka, Fajrin Rashid (Bukalapak), Budi Isman (Smartpreneur), Masril Koto (Farmer Bank), M. Isman Usman (Ruangguru), and Hanif Dinada (INFOKES). In addition, there are colleges and vocational schools, as well as some business incubators that can synergize with Telkom.

"Therefore we present DILo Padang to create new and creative ideas from the Padang community, especially the young generation, to expand their business through the use of digital technology. In addition; the presence of DILo can also accelerate digitalization in West Sumatrea in various sectors. Is expected to feel the positive impact of the presence of digital technology capable of supporting economic growth, education, trade, tourism, and security," said David.

DILo Padang was established as a center of digital creativity to bring up tough digital startup candidates from West Sumatra. In addition, the presence of DILo is expected to give people an understanding of digital innovation, digital business, and utilization of digital technology, so that later will give birth to professionals in the digital field capable of supporting the digitalization of Indonesia.

The activities to be performed will be the same as DILo in the previous city. Like knowledge sharing / expert sessions, technical training, business, and design activities, DILo roadshows, digital competitions, DILo festivals, pre-incubation, startup pitching, to digital startup preparation programs to founders.

"We hope that DILo Padang can be optimally utilized and keep each other's facilities built, the parties can realize the digitalization of West Sumata, so that it can have a significant impact on the economic growth of West Sumatra and Indonesia as well as the birth of new startups and quality," explained David.

For information, since 2009 Telkom has initiated to build digital creative industry in Indonesia through Indigo program by giving appreciation to the young generation who succeeded in developing their creative products.

David added that from 2013 to the present, the Indigo program is expanded by coaching the digital talents and startups to realize their brilliant ideas and continue to grow into startups that have a major impact on Indonesia.

"Indigo Creative Nation is in line with the government's efforts in developing the digital economy as an enabler of Indonesia's economic growth in the future Since 2013, we have incubated 102 startups. About 40 startups have been commercial / monetized, even 15 startups have received additional funding from investors in and abroad," David added.
