Penandatanganan Adendum Nota Kesepahaman antara ITS dan Kementerian ESDM
INDUSTRY.co.id - Surabaya - Ten November Institute of Technology (ITS) collaborates with Research and Development Agency (Balitbang) Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to be a partner to expand research and development in the field of energy and mineral resources.
This cooperation is strengthened through the signing of the Adendum Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides on the campus of ITS Surabaya on Friday (9/2/2018).
The signing of the Addendum to Memorandum of Understanding was carried out by the Head of ESDM Research and Development Division F.X Sutijastoto with ITS Rector Joni Hermana and witnessed by Minister of ESDM Ignasius Jonan. The two sides will cooperate continued for five years, i.e. since February 9, 2018 until February 9, 2023.
The ESDM Minister hopes this cooperation will not only stop until the research but also can be developed further on a commercial scale. "This cooperation should be commercially profitable to each other," said Jonan after witnessing the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.
Jonan conveyed two great things in cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources with ITS to be developed, namely the development of electric cars and the development of smelter technology. "Those two things are great," Jonan said.
The Addendum to Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a follow-up of the previous cooperation established since 2014. The Balitbang re-expands the scope of cooperation in several areas, including:
a. improvement and development of mineral resources, oil and gas, and marine energy;
b. development of mineral processing and refining technology for advanced materials;
c. development of smart and green building; and
d. development of electric cars
On this occasion the Rector of ITS conveyed the background of cooperation based on the importance of technology development in managing the national energy and mineral sector in the future.
"When we talk about ESDM, people always associate with the Constitution of Article 33 Paragraph 3 that the Government is entitled to provide free management of natural resources, but often forget that in exploiting and exploring technology," said Jonan.
In general, the development and research objectives of the EMR sector conducted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources with various parties lead to the realization of equitable energy.
