First Lady Iriana, OASE KIM Members Carry Out Eco-Friendly Activities in E. Java

INDUSTRY.co.id - First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, Ibu Wury Ma’ruf Amin, and members of Solidarity Act Organization of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet (OASE KIM), Thursday (10/26), carried out beach clean-up activities at Suroboyo Park, Surabaya city, East Java province.

In her statement, Ibu Iriana urged all communities to keep the beach clean by not throwing any waste in the area.

“We are cleaning the beach with OASE KIM members. Hopefully, the beach will be clean and people will stop throwing any waste (here), especially plastic,” she stated during the beach cleanup alongside elementary school students.

Previously, the First Lady and OASE KIM members visited several micro, small, and medium -sized enterprises (UMKM) stalls that displayed various products from eco-friendly processing such as bracelets, necklaces, and clothes made from plastic waste.

In addition to cleaning up the beach and providing waste management education, Ibu Iriana and OASE KIM members also planted a total of seven Ketapang Kencana (Terminalia neotaliala) trees in the area. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (SI/RAS)
