INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Garlic Business Association (APBPI), Piko Nyoto said, the existence of land and seeds become an obstacle to meet the mandatory planting 5% of the volume of imports.
However, it still supports what is required by the Ministry of Agriculture, although cannot promise anything, let alone all that must be done without government assistance.
"Achieved or not, of course it's a government program, we certainly follow the implementation of the government program," said Piko.
Currently, there are 29 importers have received Import Recommendation of Horticultural Product (RIPH) of garlic and have done cultivation around Wonosobo, Temanggung, Magelang and Batu area.
However, there have been no garlic imports since the beginning of 2018, leading to limited stocks and rising commodity prices in various places.
