January-February There Are 513 Disasters in Indonesia

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Head of Center for Data, Information and Public Relations National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said the incidence of disasters during January to February 2018 reached 513 events across the country.
"The number of incidents of disaster continues to increase during 2018. It is estimated that losses and damage caused by the disaster reached tens of trillions of rupiah," said Sutopo through a press release received in Jakarta on Friday (2/3/3018)
Sutopo said the two-month disaster in 2018 consisted of 182 incidents, 157 incidents, landslides 137 incidents, forest and land fires 15 events, flood and landslide combination 10 events, tidal waves and abrasion of seven events, earthquakes damaged three events , and volcano eruption two events.
The impact of the disaster during that time was 72 people died and missing, 116 people injured, and more than 393 thousand were displaced and suffered.
A total of 12,104 houses were damaged, including 1,566 heavily damaged houses, 3,141 houses of moderate damage and 7,397 houses slightly damaged. In addition, there are 127 units of education facilities, 123 facilities of worship and 13 health facilities.
Sutopo urged the public to keep increasing the vigilance against potential floods, landslides and tornadoes. The potential for rain during March 2018 will remain high "For the community to keep alert, recognize the surrounding environment Do not be unaware, Disaster can happen anytime," he said.
