INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said the practice of using money politics in elections is similar to degrading the dignity of the people.
"The politics of money should be avoided: Particular candidates or parties using money politics to determine who should be elected in the elections have significantly lowered the dignity of the people," Tjahjo told reporters in a short message in Jakarta on Saturday (3/3/218).
Tjahjo Kumolo stressed that there has been a degradation of the spirit of nationalism. The rise of ethnic, racial and intergroup (SARA) issues, the decline of solidarity and mutual cooperation reflects the behavior of life that has been away from the spirit of nationalism.
In the political year 2018, Tjahjo invites all parties to move to voice peaceful elections, maintain unity and unity, and not easily provoked by various SARA issues.
He emphasized that the use of SARA issues in the elections could cause a lot of noise and divides the nation.
Furthermore Tjahjo said, on Saturday, he has inaugurated the statue of Indonesian independence movement figures dr. Tjipto Mangoenkoesoemo in Ambarawa, Semarang regency. According to him, the statue also reminded the importance of maintaining and caring for the national weaving that has been pioneered by the nation's predecessors.
"Do not we tear the weave of nationality that has been a part of the life of nation and state that we have been keeping together," said Tjahjo.
