INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), or Antam, targets gold production from Pongkor and Cibaliung gold mines at 2,201 kilogram (kg) in 2018. Meanwhile, this year's gold sales volume is targeted to reach 24,000 kg.
"Compared with the realization of unaudited 2017 gold sales volume of 13,202 kg, the company's gold sales volume is targeted to grow significantly by 81%," Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo, President Director of ANTM, said here on Friday (09/03/18).
Arie said that the sharp increase in gold production volume target is in line with expectations of increasing Antam's precious metals product market, both for domestic and export markets.
In addition to gold, Arie said, Antam's nickel production volume in 2018 is projected to reach 26,000 tons in ferronickel. That is 19% higher compared to unrealized production volume in 2017 of 21,762 tons.
"The increase in nickel production volume target is in line with the company's strategy to encourage the operational utilization of the ferronickel plant in Pomalaa gradually to reach its installed capacity of 27,000 tons," Arie said.
Arie also targets Antam's nickel ore production volume of 20.55 wet metric tons (wmt) in 2018. About 9.3 million wet metric tons (wmt) of nickel ore is targeted to be sold to domestic and export markets.
"The target is much higher at around 228% compared to the unaudited sales volume of nickel ore in 2017 of 2.83 wmt," Arie added.
Arie said the remaining 11.25 million wmt of nickel ore this year will be consumed as raw material for ferronickel production. (Abraham Sihombing)
