More 17 tons Banana Kepok Enter Jiran Country Market

"Today we check 17.4 tons of banana kepok which will be sent to Malaysia", said Azhar, Head of Quarantine of Tanjung Balai Asahan, Thursday (28/3/2018).
Before being sent, quarantine officers ensure that the carrier or commodity meets the phytosanitary requirements of the destination country. "We check the documents, check the physical and make sure it is free of pests", he explained.
As is known, this type of banana is more delicious if processed into various ready-to-eat foods, such as fried bananas, banana chips and banana compote. According to Azhar, quarantine in cooperation with the relevant agriculture service especially in the area of Tanjung Balai Asahan will continue to encourage and accelerate the export of agricultural products.
