OJK: Assistance of Micro Endowments Bank Prevents NPF

INDUSTRY.co.id - Purwokerto- The Financial Services Authority reminded the importance of assistance to micro-savvy bank customers to prevent non-performing loans (NPFs).
"The key of this micro-endowment bank is assistance," said Head of the Department of Islamic Banking OJK Ahmad Soekro Tratmono in Purwokerto, Central Java, Friday (6/4/2018)
Ahmad said that sharia business accompaniment conducted by pesantren to micro wakaf bank customers can suppress the potential occurrence of the possibility of default.
Assistance that includes supervision is not difficult to do especially the majority of micro wakaf bank customers are still around the boarding area.
"If the assistance is done every week, it can be known that the customer's business is running or not so as to minimize NPF," said Ahmad to media crew in Purwokerto
Ahmad ensures the mentoring model to customers of micro waqf banks is not only done through the pesantren but later through the students.
OJK prepares the mentoring curriculum so that the utilization of micro wakaf bank financing can really improve the welfare of the community.
Currently, OJK has granted business permits to 20 micro waqf banks in pesantren communities spread across West Java (Cirebon, Bandung, Ciamis), Banten (Serang and Lebak), Central Java (Purwokerto, Cilacap, Kudus, Klaten), Yogyakarta , and East Java (Surabaya, Jombang, Kediri).
This micro-endowment bank provides access to capital for people who do not have access to formal financial institutions, especially in boarding schools, which amounts to more than 28 thousand boarding schools.
The funding scheme of a micro-endowment bank is a non-collateral financing with a maximum value of Rp 3 million and a profit margin equal to three percent.
Meanwhile, until the end of March 2018 the number of micro wakaf bank customers was recorded at 3,876 customers with financing disbursements reached Rp3.63 billion
