Setya Novanto Reveals Giving Fee Not A Deal Himself

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Setya Novanto stated that the provision of "fee" related to electronic ID card project (KTP-e) is not based on his agreement at that time.
"Since the start of the KTP-e planning, the change of budget sources up to the granting of a fee to the members of the House II commission by Irman's brother Andi Agustinus, the late Burhanuddin Napitupulu turned out to have been planned and agreed before I was met by Andi Agustinus with Irman, Diah Anggareni, Sugiharto at Hotel Gran Melia Kuningan," said Novanto.
It was said when reading a defense memo or pledoi in Corruption Court (Corruption) Jakarta, Friday (13/4/2018).
"The agreement of giving 'fee' to Commission II of DPR is an agreement between Irman's brother, Andi Agustinus, and the late Burhanuddin Napitupulu," said Novanto.
According to him, during the trial process against him there is no facts about the provision of "fee" is.
"During this process, I think this fact was never revealed at the hearing, whereas Irman in the Minutes of Examination told in detail the beginning of the fee talks with the late Burhanuddin Napitupulu," said Novanto.
He explained that in early February 2010, Irman, Andi Agustinus, and the late Burhanuddin Napitupulu had been awarded a "fee" agreement to members of the House.
In about February 2010, he said, after a meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs with the House of Representatives Commission II, Irman was asked by the late Burhanuddin Napitupulu to meet in his office on the 10th floor of the House of Representatives building.
In the meeting the late Burhanuddin Napitupulu asked to explain about the benefits of electronic ID card.
"After getting an explanation from Irman's brother, the late Burhanuddin Napitupulu said that the program is good and ready to support, but what about the need of giving money to the comrades in Commission II later," he said.
He said that at the meeting Irman did not promise anything just to deliver will escort the program to completion.
"At the end of the deceased Burhanuddin Napitupulu said that 'I agree with the establishment of Mr. Irman is good but our friends need attention, related to it Pak Irman do not have to think we will not burden Mr. Irman there is a way to it'," said Novanto .
Previously, former Chairman of the House Setya Novanto prosecuted 16 years in prison plus a fine of Rp 1 billion subsider 6 months confinement because it is considered proven to commit corruption procurement electronic ID card fiscal year 2011-2012.
In addition to the corporal punishment, the KPK prosecutor also demanded that Setya Novanto pay a substitute of 7.3 million US dollars minus Rp5 billion which has been returned 3 years of confinement and the revocation of political rights for 5 years after completing his principal sentence.
In this case Setnov allegedly received 7.3 million US dollars and Richard Mille watches worth 135 thousand US dollars from the project ID card. Setya Novanto received the money through the former director of PT Murakabi as well as his nephew, Irvanto Hendra Pambudi Cahyo, as well as Setnov's colleagues and also the owner of OEM Investmen Pte.LTd and Delta Energy Pte.Lte in Singapore, Made Oka Masagung.
Meanwhile, Setnov's watch from businessman Andi Agustinus and director of PT Biomorf Lone Indonesia Johannes Marliem as part of compensation because Setnov has helped smooth the budgeting process. The total state losses due to the project amount to Rp2.3 trillion. (Ant)
