INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, proposed that there is an addition of Idul Fitri holidays. Indeed, until now there has been no clear decision about Eid holidays. However, Budi proposes that Mondays and Tuesdays of 11-12 June 2018 can be considered to be selected and set as an additional holiday.

According to Budi, this helps to distribute and reduce traffic density during the homecoming period.

"The Idul Fitri holiday lasts from June 15-18. (Kemenhub) is seeking additional holidays to Kemenag and PANRB. Will be determined his decision on Seenin later," said Budi, in Jakarta, Friday (13/4/2018) afternoon.

For the flow of Lebaran 2018, the Ministry of Transportation provides free motorcycle homecoming by train.

"Going free by train, if he (passengers) buys tickets, he wants to go home with his motorcycle; his motorcycle can ride (into the train). But, the motorcycle is free (no need to buy additional tickets anymore)," said Director General of Land Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, who also followed the coordination meeting on this morning.

There are 13 stations that provide free motorcycle rides service by train. Some stations include Jakarta Gudang Station, Bekasi Station, Jatinegara Station, Kemayoran Station, Tangerang Station, New Depok Station, Bogor Station, Serpong Station, Tanjung Priok Station, Cikarang Station, Cimahi Station, Bandung Station and Kiaracondong Station. Per day, passing trains can carry 464 motorcycles per day.

In addition to trains, similar things are also done by traffic through the sea. In addition to an appeal to increase the number of ships and transport capacity for Eid transportation, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation is encouraged to provide free motorcycle homecoming.

To the Directorate General of Air Transportation, Minister of Transportation appealed to the airlines to provide additional flight in the 2018 homecoming stream. In addition to the number of fleets added, Budi also appealed for additional operational hours from the airport during homecoming and backflow.

The use of slot time, especially at night is expected to be more maximized. The airline is also expected not to keep keep slots. "Do not dikeep slot is, pity," said Budi.
