Wiranto Will Meet Aung San Suu Kyi Talk About Rakhine State Problem

INDUSTRY.co.id - Singapore- Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Wiranto was invited to Myanmar specifically to meet with state adviser Aung San Suu Kyi.

Menkopolhukam Wiranto on the sidelines of the 32nd ASEAN Summit in Singapore on Saturday (28/04/2018 get an invitation submitted by the Minister of Defense of Myanmar in order to visit the country.

"There was an invitation for me to Myanmar to meet Aung San Suu Kyi," he said.

The invitation was submitted according to Wiranto as a fairness considering that Indonesia has been quite active in helping to resolve the conflict or refugee refund problems from Bangladesh to Rakhine State, Myanmar.

He said Indonesia was very active even the President of Indonesia Jokowi had visited the refugee camps some time ago showed Indonesia's high concern on the issue.

"Indonesia termed the fourth state mission to maintain order, world peace then the President came there. I as a minister in charge of political, legal and security issues try to explain the spirit of the President for how to help humanitarian problems in Rakhine State can be resolved soon , "he said.

The invitation according to Wiranto related to that, where Myanmar will ask Indonesia to share experience in solving domestic problems without bringing fatal consequences.

"So the invitation to me is related to how Indonesia can provide past experiences that may be applicable in Myanmar," he said as quoted by Antara.

He added that Myanmar can open itself to Indonesia because of the trust that has been built by President Joko Widodo who is able to ensure that Indonesia's position is neutral in the current issue.

Indonesia takes an orientation to help resolve internal issues in Myanmar without any desire or pretense to infiltrate or intervene.
