INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Executive Director of Voxpol Center Research and Consulting, Pangi Syarwi Chaniago predicts the 2019 presidential election will be followed by three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates, marked by the formation of the third axis.
"Therefore, there is an opportunity for the 2019 presidential election to be followed by three candidate pairs because the parties are dissatisfied with the attitude of the supporters of Jokowi and Prabowo, possibly forming the third axis," Pangi said in his written statement in Jakarta on Monday (7/5/2018)
He said his prediction was looking at the current political map of a number of political parties that have not yet declared support, thought to be of interest interest.
According to him, each political party seemed to want the figure they sacked sitting as vice president Joko Widodo and vice Prabowo Subianto.
"Another possibility, some still want Prabowo legowo just as a king maker, this group seems to see the opportunity of Gatot Nurmantyo beat Jokowi bigger," he said.
He explained another reason the possibility of a third axis will be formed ie parties that do not support Jokowi or Prabowo is believed to see no great advantage if the presidential candidate himself.
This is mainly because the required capital is not so great and the third axis is enough to prepare a one-round budget, because of the possibility of speeding into the second round of Jokowi and Prabowo.
He assessed the other benefits in the Legislative Election (Pileg) vote, the public certainly did not want to bother with the ballot that consists of many columns because pileg and pilpres performed simultaneously so it is possible to choose the party (for pileg) based on the choice of the president's name.
"Another advantage, the bargaining power of the third axis supporting parties will also be higher in the second round," said the two axis who are believed to be trying to achieve maximum support.
He predicts if the third axis carrying Gatot Nurmantyo as presidential candidate, 2019 presidential election will take two rounds.
In addition, he saw a tendency of saturated voters if the presidential candidate forward in 2019 only bout Jokowi and Prabowo, as happened in the 2014 Presidential Election, so when the emergence of a new name such as Gatot, the chances of votes will be split.
Pangi suspects that the scheme that occurred in the elections of DKI Jakarta 2017 may be repeated, ie the axis that does not enter the second round joining Jokowi's opponent.
"Two anti-Jokowi groups united in the second round are likely to massively campaign for the former mayor of Surakarta to fail to create the welfare of the community, which has not been felt directly by the community," he said.
