Release Edamame Jember Exports to Japan, Minister of Agriculture: Easing Rules

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jember - Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman released edamame edamame exports to the Japanese market for 23,000 kg on Thursday (24/05). Total 9 thousand tons of edamame from Jember is targeted to be present in foreign markets this year.

"We export to 12 countries, Japan, USA, Australia, Malaysia, as well as some countries in Europe, Middle East and so on," said Amran during a stop at PT. Mitratani Dua Tujuh Jember, on the sidelines of a series of visits to the program of Poverty Surgery of the Prosperous People (Working) in East Java.

The Minister of Agriculture is intensively encouraging exports of agricultural products to promote economic growth and public welfare.

"This is what we should encourage, Mr. President's message, which can boost economic growth is two.The first is exports, the second is investment," said Amran.

To encourage exports, the Ministry of Agriculture has already undertaken several deregulation measures. By 2018 there are already 50 Regulations and Decree of the Minister of Agriculture deleted.

"If anyone wants to export, we make it easy, we pick up the ball, if necessary, send the letters needed for export," said Amran.

The agricultural product export trend is on the rise in four years of Jokowi-JK rule. Some of the products that are being intensified are corn and chicken processed. In 2017 alone, the export value in agriculture reached Rp 440 trillion. Increased 24% from the previous year.
