Baznas Opens Zakat Store in Manado Mall

INDUSTRY.co.id - Manado - Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) North Sulawesi Province (North Sulawesi) opened zakat stores in mega malls and other hubs.

"This is done to facilitate people to pay zakat ahead of Lebaran in 2018," said Chairman of North Sulawesi Baznas Abid Takalamingan in Manado, Tuesday (12/06/2018)

Abid said that because of Lebaran some places that became the center of the crowd, among others in malls and other public places visited, so it is very appropriate to open outlets there.

"In addition to collecting zakat from the community, zakat outlet is also intended to provide education to the community about zakat," he said.

Zakat outlet in Manado in addition to the shopping center is also in the location of Ramadhan Safari Manado, because the public interest to visit the place is high.

Zakat outlets, he said, done from the beginning of fasting until H-1 Lebaran so that people can fulfill their obligations to pay zakat, especially zakat fitrah during Ramadan.

"We hope, the existence of this zakat booth will make it easier for people to pay zakat," he said.

Because, he said, zakat potential in North Sulawesi is quite large but not yet collected well, so this zakat outlet is expected to help people pay zakat. (Ant)
