Bogor Zakat Receiver Reaches Rp12, 1 Billion

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bogor - Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) Bogor City, West Java, recorded the acceptance of zakat, infak and alms during the month of Ramadhan 2018 reached Rp12, 1 billion.

Based on the report, the Rp12.1 billion fund was sourced from zakat, infaq and alms (ZIS) receipts during January to May 2018 compiled by Baznas Kota Bogor plus total ZIS revenue during Ramadan.

The number has increased significantly from the previous year. Total revenue in 2017 amounted to Rp11.7 billion.

Executor of the task (Plt) Bogor Mayor Usmar Hariman appreciated the increase in ZIS this year, as a form of public awareness of his obligations to pay zakat.

"There is a significant increase in zakah receipts in 2017 by 2018, hopefully this will continue to be sustainable, as the legalization of zakat by the DPRD," Usmar said.

According to him, with the zakat regulation will regulate the mechanism of acceptance and distribution of zakat effective and efficient.

"With this regulation, there is legal protection especially in the collection of zakat in government agencies," he told the media crew.

Meanwhile, the records from Baznas Kota Bogor ZIS revenue during the period January to May 2018 was recorded at Rp1 billion more while ZIS revenue during Ramadan Rp11, 1 billion.

When compared to 2017, this amount of ZIS revenue from January to May period of about Rp1, 3 billion while the ZIS during Ramadan amounted to Rp10 billion. The total is Rp11.7 billion.
