Electronic City Spends Rp 35 Billion on Expansion

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Electronic City Indonesia Tbk (ECII) this year poured Rp35 billion for business expansion by opening five new outlets.
"As of March 2018, Electronic City has 53 stores spread across Indonesia," said Director of Business Development of PT Electronic City Indonesia Tbk Anita Angeliana Sitompul in Jakarta on Thursday (21). "We built five new outlets and realized in the third or fourth quarter of this year. / 6/2018)
Angeliana said the new store construction cost Rp 7 million per square meter.
"The minimum space for each outlet is 800 meters to 1,000 square meters, so a new store needs an investment of Rp 7 billion, five stores will be Rp35 billion," she said.
The company is looking for the most suitable locations for new store openings with a more efficient concept that does not require extensive land.
"The decision to expand business still takes into consideration the current economic condition," she said.
Electronic City is also in the process of rebranding for the rejuvenation of its owned stores and to improve service and facilitate a better distribution process to customers.
"Electronic City is building a 'distribution center' in Citeureup, West Java, which is expected to operate by the end of this year," she told media crews.
The distribution center will support Electronic City outlets in Jabodetabek and in other cities.
"Distribution center will ensure the availability of stock items in Electronic City outlets located outside the region," she said. (Ant)
