Amin Rais: Leaders Must Prepare the People to Ready to Compete

INDUSTRY.co.id - Magelang - Former Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Amien Rais argues that every leader, both central and regional, must have a strong commitment to prepare people to enter competition with other nations in various areas of life.
"Must have a genuine commitment in preparing the community to really be able to compete with other nations," he said in Magelang, Sunday (1/7/2018).
Amien Rais, who is also Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly for the 1999-2004 periods, said this in the Muhammadiyah Family Gathering at Srumbung Village Square, Magelang District, Central Java.
He said the progress of science and technology makes every nation in the world, is required to have the readiness to compete with other nations.
The main requirement that a nation, including Indonesia, be able to compete with other nations, he said, when it has materialized justice in the life of the nation.
"When justice is able to be realized then this nation will become strong. Power possessed to be the basic and main capital in facing the challenges of the times," he said.
When a nation has a strong society, he said, his stance will not be easily shaken and able to have independence in determining the journey of the life of his own nation.
"The power that is owned will make this nation strong and handsome in the international association," he said.
He argues the importance of justice in economic, social, political, and legal life that is really presented in the life of a nation.
"The struggle for justice needs to be a collective jihad of all elements of this nation," he said.
