Bamsoet appealed to people not to consume sweetened condensed milk

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Chairman of the House of Representatives, Bambang Soesatyo encourage the Agency for Drug and Food Control (BPOM) provides a comprehensive explanation related to the findings of condensed milk (SKM) does not contain nutritious milk.
"Every SKM packaging on the market is all labeled from BPOM, so it should provide a comprehensive explanation related to these findings," he said, in Jakarta, Thursday (5/7/2018)
Bambang Soesatyo who is familiarly called Bamsoet, said it refers to the findings of BPOM that SKM does not contain nutritious milk.
BPOM in its findings also that SKM contains high sugar so it can cause diabetes.
Golkar Party politician asserted, for the Ministry of Health and BPOM to review all SKM products and coordinate with the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).
"If necessary, all SKM is withdrawn from circulation in the market," he said.
Bamsoet also suspects the possibility of fraud behind the SKM label, thus asking the Police to conduct an in-depth review of the BPOM findings.
"I urge the Police to examine deeply the motives behind the BPOM statement to prove its truth, and take firm action against SKM producers," he said.
According to him, if the BPOM statement referring to his findings proves to be true, then this fraud may be subject to the article in Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection.
Bamsoet also hopes that the Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI) will soon give an understanding to the public about the importance of doing "class action" or lawsuit in the matter.
"I urge people not to consume SKM until there is an official explanation from SKM producers, considering the state has an obligation to maintain public health," he said.
