Minister Rini: In the future we will build a total of 50 TOD

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, State Minister for State Enterprises (SOE), Rini Soemarno, said that the development of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept will be intensified. Moreover TOD dwelling can be a solution to cope with congestion because it is integrated with mass transportation and is also expected to reduce the backlog of housing.

"Later TOD will be a lot, the plan in Pondok China, Manggarai, Senen, Tangerang also in Bogor and all sorts of lots.  In the future we will build a total of 50 TOD," said Rini during Groud Breaking TOD Tanjung Barat, Jakarta (15 / 8/2017).

She added that the development of TOD is the first. "After the first TOD in the West Cape broke eggs, God willing in the future every month there is one," she explained.

In the future, the construction of residential areas in the station is not only limited to the train station at close range. Rini said, did not rule out later in the train station distance medium and far built similar dwellings.

At the same occasion, Minister of Public Works and People's Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimoeljono said, it will be not only integrated shelter development with mass transportation mode. Area shopping centers of local-owned enterprises (BUMD) will also be built residential.

"If the land is in the country, there will be a market in this market to press the price, maybe there will be the land of the Ministry of Public Works," he continued.

Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, who was also present at the West Cape Ground Breaking TOD, said that with the TOD we give lessons to the community how we have the pattern of urban community life in a better way.

"TOD in Jakarta is one of the efforts to make other cities to develop TOD immediately, with this TOD we give the opportunity of our brothers who do not have to be in the strategic center," added the Minister of Transportation.

On the other hand, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Djarot Saiful Hidayat welcomed the positive development project of flats in the transit oriented development (TOD) area of ​​Tanjung Barat Station. Nevertheless, Djarot hoped the sale of this flat was right on target.

"I give input so that this tower is not traded and monopolized by people who will buy because the price is cheap, especially for MBR (low income people), not allowed," said Djarot.

Djarot further asserted, those who bought the tower unit was originally not yet have a home. Middle-class citizens are also not allowed to buy five units of flats at once for resale.
