INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PKS President Sohibul Iman affirmed that his party rejected the plan to build a new DPR building, because it is not in accordance with the national economic condition that is experiencing budget deficit.
"The economic situation of Indonesia is not possible, so we ask for delay the construction of new building," said Sohibul on the sidelines of the Joint Session of DPR-DPD RI at Nusantara Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (16/08/2017)
He acknowledged that the work space of DPR members was still inadequate to support the task of the irrigation because at the beginning of Nusantara I Building, one room was only for one member of DPR and one staff member.
Currently, according to him, one room is occupied by one member of the House of Representatives, five experts, and two personal assistants but must be adjusted to the financial portion of Indonesia experiencing deficit.
"Yes maybe the middle road with the renovation of the building, it means find a way that does not hurt the current situation," he told the media crew.
Sohibul considers that all budgeting must have priority awareness so as not to disappoint the people who currently face fluctuating economic conditions.
Sohibul said DPP PKS has not communicated and has not provided direction to the PKS Faction of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, so soon to be consolidated related to it.
"We have not given direction to the PKS Faction but I am sure friends of the faction understood them to see a situation like this," he said.
Chairman of the House Household Affairs Agency Anton Sihombing said the budget for the new building of the House was gradually obtained in 2018, for example, Rp500 billion of the total budget of the House of Representatives in the year Rp5, 7 trillion.
"The budget is gradually already obtained Rp5, 7 trillion yesterday it has no Rp500 billion for the budget," said Anton at the Nusantara Building, Jakarta, Monday (14/8).
Golkar Party politician explained that in addition to building a new building, the House is also proclaiming to build a plaza of democracy, libraries to museums of parliament.
The plan, according to him, outside of the budget that will be used to build a new House of Representatives such as democracy square can be used as a representative place for people who want to implement the rally.
"But we will add more to the construction of the square, the library continues to the museum, for example in London, England when people express aspirations there is a place apart, unlike here when the demo happened congestion," he said.
Anton said that the discussion on the Draft State Budget of 2018 will be conducted after the financial memorandum reading on August 16, 2017, so that the DPR can only get Rp5.7 trillion or not.
