INDUSTRY.co.id - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini on Wednesday (07/07/2021) has announced that each recipient of the Cash Social Assistance (BST) and the Family Hope Program (PKH) will receive an additional 10-kilogram rice assistance.

Those social assistances, the Minister added, will be administered to 10 million people across Indonesia.

Risma further said that the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) of Ministry of Social Affairs has been updated on the last weekend and now is ready to use as a basis for assistance distribution.

The BST will be distributed by state-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia and the PKH will be distributed by the state-owned banks association (Himbara).

As for the 10-kilogram rice assistance, it will be distributed by the State Logistics Agency (Bulog), given it has networks spread nationwide.

“The distribution has started in stages since last week,” she said, adding that the BST recipients will receive the assistance for the months of May-June at once worth Rp600,000.

Previously, Risma stated that the social assistance is expected to be distributed this week in line with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s directive on the Implementation of Emergency Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM Darurat) in the islands of Java and Bali from 3 to 20 July 2021.

For the record, the Government has set aside a budget allocation of Rp6.1 trillion for 10 million BST recipients, Rp13.96 trillion for 10 million PKH beneficiaries, and Rp45.12 trillion for 18.8 million non-cash food assistance (BPNT) recipients.
