INDUSTRY.co.id - Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will be administered exclusively to health workers, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin affirmed.
“We ensure that the third jab, the Moderna booster, will be administered to all our health workers. We have distributed (the vaccine) to all provinces and I hope the vaccine can be injected immediately so that our health workers can be better prepared to deal with incoming patients,” the Minister said in his press statement after a limited meeting, Monday (02/08).
Furthermore, the Minister said that the rest of the available supply of vaccines will be administered to the public, especially those who have not yet received the first dose. “The rest of the available vaccine will be given to 140 million of our people who have not received the vaccine yet,” he said.
On the occasion, Budi said that the Government continues to accelerate the implementation of risk-based national vaccination drive. He explained that certain regions with higher rates of confirmed cases and deaths will be prioritized.
The Minister added that the Government continues to intensify efforts to secure more vaccines. “From August to December this year, we will welcome the arrival of more than 300 million doses of vaccines. It is time for us to exert efforts together for vaccination” he said.
Budi also expressed his appreciation to all elements who have worked hard in dealing with the recent spike in cases especially in the islands of Java and Bali.
