Visits of Malaysian and Singaporean Tourists Decline, Ministry of Tourism Prepare Solutions

INDUSTRY.co.id - Palembang- The attainment of foreign tourist arrivals in the first semester is rated good by the Ministry of Tourism, up 45 percent and is expected to rise 55 percent in the second half.

To attract tourists from Malaysia and Singapore, the Ministry of Tourism has been preparing croossborder program to attract foreign tourists back to Indonesia.

"For that we make a package that is focused on the border areas of Batam and Bintan by providing cheap packages, but good quality," he continued.

There are eight crossborder areas with 30 areas with a total of 214 selected programs and programs, and we have a target of 3,146 million tourists.

"In this program we are preparing ferry boats for Batam and Bintan areas that have 22 thousand seats capacity.The ferry will carry foreign tourists from Tanah Red, Johor two Singapore one Malaysia, then to six points in Batam and Bintan," he said.

The decline in the number of visits by foreign tourists from Malysia and Australia was dissipated as the tourists moved to Vietnam, as they sold cheap packages to attract tourists.

"Crossborder program is valid for Monday-Thursday and in addition to tour packages, there are also entertainment packages such as hotels, spas and golf," said Pitana.
