INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Communications and Information Rudiantara said that the government has sent a letter to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as the UN body that deals with all communication and information technology related to the expiry of Telkom 1 Satellite in its orbit. The letter is to keep to the slot orbit slot, in order to be used by Telkom Satellite 4 next year.
"The government has sent a letter to ITU, so that the letter is secure. End of the month we will meet Secretary General of ITU," said in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/09/2017).
Related to the completion of Telkom's customer network recovery process from Satellite 1 to other satellites and fiber optic and machine to machine, continued Rudi, appreciate for the performance of Telkom which successful to clean up all 15,019 sites that was disturbed by end of August 2017. "Every week there is adate release for to know what Telkom has done on the progress recovery, to 100% complete," he said.
In order for Telkom's satellite problems to be mitigated in the future, he said, he will monitor the satellite process, especially when the satellite service period is over. "For example, the age of the satellite is 15 years, three years before the end we will ask how to prepare the satellite, the document we ask, then we ask the contract too," he said.
