Pretrial Decision Setya Novanto Can Be Reviewed

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Senior Analyst of Indonesia Public Institute Karyono Wibowo considers that the pretrial judge's decision to grant part of the lawsuit of Golkar Chairman Setya Novanto is already predictable.

"The judge's verdict is predictable, the sick news of Novanto, which became viral in cyberspace, signaled that Novanto will be free from the status of MTP corruption suspect in the pre-trial hearing," said Karyono in Jakarta, Friday (09/29/2010)

Karyono said the other signal is the arrest of a number of regional heads from the Golkar party which raises public perception as if there was barter with the case of Chairman of Golkar.

On the other hand, he said, the pretrial ruling that revoked the suspect status of Novanto could disrupt the scenario of a number of Golkar functionaries who want to take the position of Novanto from the position of Chairman.

If the position before the pretrial ruling makes Novanto's position threatened, now his position may turn around after being free of suspect status.

"It could be that Novanto will hit back the group that maneuver will remove it from the position of Chairman," he explained.

However, in terms of perception, the free Novanto does not necessarily make Golkar image recover. But it can happen otherwise, Novanto free can make the image of Golkar decreased.
