Semester II PT Semen Baturaja Targets 550,000 Ton Production

INDUSTRY.co.id - Palembang- PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk targets to increase production in the second half of 2017 by 550,000 tons from the new plant of Baturaja II which has been operated in May 2017.
President Director of Semen Baturaja Rahmad Pribadi said the Rp 3.4 trillion investment will raise the production capacity of Semen Baturaja to 3.85 million tons, up 92.5 percent from the current 2 million tons of cement per year.
"Additional new production began to be felt this July," said Rahmad, Monday (2/10/2017)
He said with the operation of this new factory, it means the opportunity to dominate the South Sumatra market is more open that includes South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, Jambi and Bengkulu (Sumbagsel). In the middle of this year, he predicted the start of the results because the new plant has been fully operational.
PT Semen Baturaja this year also targets to capture 60 percent of cement demand in the Sumbagsel region reaching a total of 6 million tons per year.
Confidence is better the resulting product that has been labeled the Indonesian National Standard, and incessant infrastructure development in Sumbagsel.
"One of them is the Palembang Light Rail Transit project which can be said to use 95 percent of Baturaja cement products," he said.
In the future, along with the increasing trend of production, the company also targets to penetrate the market share in the western regions of Java, namely Jakarta to West Java, and North Sumatra (Sumbagut) regions, namely Aceh to North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
