KPK Considers Call Forced Setya Novanto

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) considers to call Force Setya Novanto after not being present at the third calling as a witness of alleged corruption case of KTP-electronic (KTP-e).

"It is one that is allowed by the legislation to call forcibly," said Deputy Chief of KPK Laode M Syarif at the KPK building, Jakarta, Monday (13/11/2017)

However, Laode also hoped that the Golkar Party Chairman could cooperate to meet the KPK's call to be examined as a witness of the KTP-e case.

"But hopefully he is cooperative, yes we hope he can attend without any coercion," said Syarif.

He also stressed that the related calling Setya Novanto is part of the investigator's authority.

"Communication is not the leader of KPK, there is a communication of our investigator who will call the Director of Investigation and if he is not present again, then we will work according to the rules," said Syarif.

Setya Novanto has been present three times in KPK's call as witness for Anang Sugiana Sudihardjo.

On the first call on Monday (30/10) Setya Novanto also did not meet the KPK's call as because there are other activities in the area during the recess of DPR RI.

While on the second and third call on Monday (6/11) and Monday (13/11), Setya Novanto stated that his calling must have written permission from the President.

Setya Novanto has also been re-assigned to suspect cases of alleged corruption of KTP-electronic (KTP-e) on Friday (10/11).

Setya Novanto as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) 2009-2014 period together with Anang Sugiana Sudihardjono, Andi Agustinus alias Andi Narogong, Irman as Director General of Population and Civil Registration of Kemendagri and Sugiharto as Commander of Komitment (PPK) Director General Dukcapil Kemendagri and alleged friends with the aim of benefiting oneself or others or a koporasi.

As well as to abuse the authority of opportunity or facilities available to him due to position or position so that it is suspected to cause state financial losses to the state's economy at least Rp2.3 trillion of the procurement package value of around Rp 5, 9 trillion in procurement package implementation of KTP-E 2011-2012 Kemendagri.

Setya Novanto denies article 2 paragraph 1 subsider articles 3 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on amendment to Law No. 31 of 1999 on Corruption Eradication jo article 55 paragraph 1 to-1 Criminal Code on behalf of the suspect.

Previously, Chairman of the Golkar Party was also established KPK as a suspect KPK-e project case on July 17, 2017 ago.

However, the South Jakarta District Court through Single Judge Cepi Iskandar on September 29, 2017 granted pre-trial suit Setya Novanto stating that his determination as a suspect is not in accordance with the procedure.
