Nephew of House Speaker Setya Novanto Prevented Overseas

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prevented Irvanto Hendra Pambudi, the nephew of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Setya Novanto, abroad in the investigation of the criminal act of corruption in the procurement of ID card based population identity card (KTP-e).

"Witness Irvanto Hendra Pambudi was prevented abroad for the purpose of examination in the case of KTP-e for suspect Setya Novanto (SN)," said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah at KPK Building, Jakarta, Monday (24/7/2017)

Febri said Irvanto was prevented overseas for the next six months since July 21, 2017.

Previously, Irvanto claimed to lead the Murakabi Sejahtera consortium which is one of the participants of electronic ID card auction.

"When the electronic ID card, Murakabi participated as Chairman of Murakabi Consortium, my own lead," said Pambudi, in a trial at the Corruption Crime Court in Jakarta, Thursday (27/4).

He testified to two defendants, namely the former Director General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs Irman and former Director of Information Administration Management of Population at the directorate general, Sugiharto.

Irvanto in the trial also claimed to be Novanto's nephew. In the indictment, Novanto is called as a person who has a big influence to determine the budget of the electronic ID card in the House is decided.

"Setya Novanto my uncle from mother," he said.

He also claimed to be active in Golkar Party led by his uncle and even became deputy treasurer of DPP Golkar.

"When the electronic ID card was not a party, but Kosgoro in 2009-2011, but I am not active, after 2011 I was in DPP Golkar Party as a member of youth and now since 2016 I became Vice Treasurer of the Party," he said.
