INDUSTRY.co.id - Kupang - Academics from Muhammadiyah University of Kupang, Dr. Ahmad Atang, MSi rate, the attitude of Golkar Party Chairman Setya Novanto who do unlawful act is a slap for the party bearing the banyan tree in the eyes of the people.
"If from the beginning of Novanto to take a co-opive stance to support law enforcement will certainly provide a good political learning for the community, but what did Novanto actually turned against the law, so the Novanto case becomes a slap for Golkar in the eyes of the people," said Ahmad Atang in Kupang, Monday (20/11/2017).
He mentioned that, in relation to the case of Setya Novanto and its impact on the Golkar Party in the upcoming 2019 general election.
"If only Setya Novanto cooperative, then at this point the public will give appreciation to the political elites who are obedient, law-abiding and big-spirited in the face of legal cases," he said.
According to him, as Chairman of the Golkar Party, society is difficult to separate Novanto as a person or leader of Golkar Party.
Between the two are two sides of the currency so Setya Novanto case will drag Golkar in the public eye, said Ahmad Atang who is also a lecturer in Political Science Communication at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisip) Undana Kupang.
The reason for discussing Setya Novanto cannot be separated from Golkar, and instead talking about Golkar cannot ignore Novanto.
Therefore, to improve the image of a party can only be done by improving the political behavior of its cadres, both in the legislative and executive.
That is, the case of Setya Novanto will actually give a bad impact for the party bearing the banyan tree in the eyes of the people.
Therefore, in the face of the 2019 election, Golkar Party will be abandoned by its mass.
Moreover, the case of Setya Novanto did not stop when detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), but will continue to roll towards the upcoming elections.
Here Setya Novanto case will be packed by political opponents to serve as a negative campaign material toward the 2019 election, said Ahmad Atang. (Ant)
