44 Country Ensured to Send Its Athletes at Ironman Event 70.3 Bintan

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- For the third time, the event will be held in Bintan, Riau Islands on August 20, 2017.

Ironman 70.3 is an international-class spray tourism is a sport tourism in Indonesia from one and five in Southeast Asia.

According to Nathalie Marquet, CEO of MetaSport Organizer of Ironman 70.3 Bintan, said, "This sport tourism event brings a lot of athletes from outside and even from Indonesia," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday (07/12/2017).

In addition, based on ironman 70.3 global survey, the race in Bintan is in the top three of the world.

Since Arief Yahya as the Minister of Tourism, added Pitana, is sport tourism enhanced all-out, but the potential that dikembangakan and menjadin lifestyle for tourists who follow it, in addition they can also include supporters and their families.

"Ironman will be followed by 44 countries, with a total of 1,400 participants, 82 percent came from foreign tourists and 18 percent came from domestic tourists," said Pitana.

The race will start in the morning, opening with a 1.9-kilometer swim taking the start position at Plaza Lagoi, Lagoi Bay tourism development center in Bintan Resort special zone of the Indonesian archipelago.

Furthermore, the athletes will cycle 90 kilometers (one round) on smooth and wide roads. The participants will end the race by running as far as 21 kilometers, this distance will be taken in two rounds, the track is quite easy and has a more interesting scenery than the previous year.

"Currently the participating sports tourism event includes from several countries namely, Singapore, Philippines, Autralia and Japan," concluded Nathalie Marquet, as CEO of MetaSport Organizer of Ironman 70.3 Bintan.
