INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Revenue of PT Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk (PANR), an integrated tourism company in Indonesia, is targeted to grow 20 percent by 2018. The company's revenue this year is targeted to increase only 18 percent.
According to PANR 2016 financial statements, the realization of PANR's revenue amounted to Rp2.13 trillion. Thus, PANR's revenue is targeted to reach around Rp2.51 trillion in 2017 and Rp3 trillion in 2018.
PANR's positive financial performance throughout 2017 is underpinned by the rapid development of Indonesia's tourism industry in line with the spirit of Indonesia Incorporated launched by Arief Yahya, the Minister of Tourism.
"Our revenue growth both this year and next year is supported by the rapid development of the tourism industry contributed by the Indonesian government in increasing the promotion and visits of foreign tourists to Indonesia," said Budi Tirtawisata, President Director of PANR, in Jakarta on Thursday (21/12/2017 ).
Budi explained, to achieve revenue target next year, PANR management allocates capital expenditure (capital expenditure / capex) of Rp 50 billion.
"The capex fund will be used to finance the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based business, office development and business network development to regional level," said Budi.
United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) campaigns on sustainable tourism to strengthen the position of Indonesia's tourism sector in the future. This year, the Inbound pillar has been tagged Travel Travel Partner from Travelife and signed the "Adopt a Reef" program cooperation in Wakatobi National Park with The Nature Conservancy.
"The rapidly growing tourism industry today, the tourism business is not the same as before but we see a very good opportunity next year," said Budi.
Budi asserted, another factor contributing to the company's revenue growth is the current era of "leisure economy", where people are turning to buy "experience" compared to tourism products. That is coupled with the demographic bonus.
To reach a stronger and wider range in this segment, Panorama Sentrawisata earlier this year in synergy with JTB Corporation, a leading travel company in Japan and in Asia Pacific.
"We have developed several strategic steps to deal with this dynamic business, one of them by ensuring synergy and integration among business enterprises to get competitive price," said Budi.
Tourism in the digital era is now more complex and has become one of the rapidly growing multidimensional services industries. According to World Tourism, the tourism trend will continue to increase, even global tourism grew on average above 4% per year.
"We are very optimistic about the company's performance improvement next year in line with the advance movement of the tourism industry," added Budi.
Budi said, PANR will continue to innovate and implement digitization in all operational lines to provide the best service and experience for customers, both local and foreign.
In addition, Panorama Sentrawisata will also continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism through Wonderful Indonesia co-branding in reaching the target of 20 million foreign tourists in 2019. (Abraham Sihombing)
