INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk (PANR)'s profit during January-September 2017 stood at Rp43.55 billion (Rp31.06 per share), up 250% over the same period in 2016 of Rp12.38 billion (Rp5.76 per share).
The surge in profit of listed companies in the tourism sector is supported by the increase in the subsidiaries' profit and the decrease of the company's net interest expense.
In addition, PANR's revenue in the period grew 10% to Rp3.81 trillion compared to the same period in 2016 of Rp3.45 trillion.
The increase in PANR revenues was due to an increase in sales of inbound business around 13.3% over the period. This business is in line with the government's efforts to increase the promotion and visit of foreign tourists to Indonesia.
In addition, through the business, PANR also managed to expand the market to UK, India, and China and to various ASEAN countries.
Meanwhile, Travel & Leisure business which experienced a 9.8% increase also contributed to the company's revenue growth. This business is supported by demographic bonuses, where there is an increase in productive age and the growth of the middle class.
In addition, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) also saw a shift in the consumption patterns of people who are inclined to the leisure economy. The pattern encourages consumers to desire "experience-based consumption" (experience), including hospitality (hotels and restaurants) as well as recreation and culture.
Thus, the community has made traveling a lifestyle, and this has a very good impact on the tourism industry.
"The people of Indonesia now have a strong purchasing power. With the lifestyle trends of traveling carried by the productive generation, the tourism industry is greatly benefited," said Budi Tirtawisata, Group CEO of Panorama Group, in Jakarta, Friday (17/11/2017).
Therefore, as Budi, as a tourism industry actor, PANR always strives to provide the best impression and experience for consumers.
Earlier this year, PANR has been synergizing with JTB Corporation, a leading travel company in Japan and in Asia Pacific, to reach a stronger and wider range of Travel & Leisure segments.
Meanwhile, PANR's business in the media sector has also successfully conducted 13 exhibitions in Indonesia; two of them are Maritime Expo and Indonesia Comic Con. In the future, PANR will be more active in developing MICE sector (Meeting, Incentive, Conference & Exhibition) through B2B and B2C events.
In general, PANR management is optimistic about the company's performance improvement in the coming years in line with the advance movement of the national tourism industry. PANR will also continue to innovate and digitize all operational lines to provide the best service and experience for customers, both domestic and foreign. (Abraham Sihombing)
