Anies Governor Expects Peace to Be Felt Through All Jakarta Citizens

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan hopes that the shade and peace at the 2017 Christmas Celebration can be felt by all Jakarta citizens.

"We hope that the shade and peace that tonight will be felt in the Immanuel Church, the shade and peace felt by all Jakarta citizens," Anies said as he delivered a message to the congregation at GPIB Immanuel in Jakarta, Sunday (25/12/2017)

Anies, accompanied by Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta and representatives of Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama, hopes that the 2017 Christmas celebration will be a momentum to keep the unity in order for Jakarta to be a comfortable home for its citizens.

"We want to make sure that Jakarta is home to every citizen of Jakarta and let us build an atmosphere of calm, peace and real unity," he said.

Anies also wishes to celebrate Christmas for Christians who attend Christmas Eve Mass in the church.

"We want to greet the congregation to congratulate Christmas, hope that peace, happiness, and shade will always accompany you all in this sacred night," he said.

Meanwhile Minister of Home Affairs at Immanuel Church On a separate occasion, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo who participated in monitoring the celebration of Christmas Eve mass at GPIB Immanuel Jakarta.

In a message to the Church, Tjahjo guarantees the security of worship for Christians who are worshiping mass on Christmas Eve.

"Every Indonesian citizen in the Republic of Indonesia should be given a security guarantee for worship," Tjahjo told the media crew.

Tjahjo conveyed the whole security apparatus has provided security guarantees on the 2017 Christmas celebration, ranging from regional to central level.

In addition to Tjahjo, the attendees to monitor the Christmas celebration in this church are National Police Chief Tito Karnavian and TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.

Meanwhile, the Christmas Mass in GBIP Immanuel on Sunday (24/12) lasted for three times at 17.00 pm, 19:00 pm and 21:00 pm.

A total of 118 joint personnel of TNI / Polri were assigned to guard the area around the church.

Security is strict at every point, even every vehicle that enters the church yard should be closely examined by armed police.
