INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - There is a unique Chinese company, Alibaba. Alibaba subsidiary online retailer, Taobao, opens a job vacancy with special requirements, ie the applicant must be 60 years old or older. Interestingly, in just 24 hours, there were already 1,000 people applying for the job.

Quoting Business Insider, Tuesday (23/1/2018), Taobao is the largest online retailer in China. The purpose of senior employee recruitment is to conduct an assessment of products devoted to middle-aged and elderly consumers.

"We received about 1,000 applications on the first day of the job announcement," Alibaba spokesman said.

The profiles of applicants include former teachers, judges, civil servants, to the police. In fact, many young Taobao users encourage their parents to apply.

Until last week, the oldest suitor was 83 years old. One of the things that became the attraction of this job is high salary.

In Beijing, the salary of employees for a year reached US $ 18,600 or equivalent around Rp 249 million. Meanwhile, Taobao offers a salary of 64,000 US dollars or 857.6 million.

In addition to salary, the employee will also have a harmonious relationship with their children, reading about psychology and sociology, as well as experiencing an online shopping experience for a year.

In addition, Taobao also said it would have a middle-aged consumer groups and seniors. Currently, Taobao has 30 million users around the age of 50 years.

By 2020, an estimated 255 million Chinese will be 60 years and older. This could be a great opportunity for Taobao business expansion.

"We created a new Taobao version designed specifically for senior consumers, tailored to their habits and needs," said a spokesman for Alibaba.
