INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- The Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing (PUPR) proposes the development of independent cities in some areas. The development of the new self-contained city includes, Sovivi in North Maluku, Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan and Sei Mangkai in North Sumatra
"In Sei Mangkei there is a huge investment for the downstream of palm oil," said Director of Commercial and Commercial House (RUK) Directorate General of Housing Provision of the Ministry of PUPR Dadang Rukmana.
For Sei Mangkei, the proposal to make them as independent cities has actually emerged since 2015. While the Kayangan and Sovivi emerging 2016.
Currently, the Ministry of PUPR is still waiting for the big plan of infrastructure development in the four areas that are being designed by the National Development Agency (Bappenas).
However, for some cities that have previously entered into the RPJMN 2015-2019, execution has begun. It was at least already seen in Maja, Banten.
"There PU has signed a partnership with local governments and developers who control the land in Maja to support the realization of Maja as a new public city," said Dadang.
The purpose of cooperation is to avoid irregularities in regional development.
This is at once to facilitate as well as efficient development and infrastructure investment there.
