House Speaker Bamsoet Pushes Srikandi PP Struggling in Politics

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - House Speaker Bambang Soesatyo encourages Srikandi Pemuda Pancasila (PP) to fight to improve women's fate through political channels in parliament.
"Through the parliament, women, including Srikandi PP can contribute to development, especially voicing the aspirations of the conquerers," Bambang Soesatyo said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Sunday (4/3/2018).
According to Bamsoet, Bambang Soesatyo's call, to fight for the improvement of women's fate through parliament, the women of Srikandi PP must join political parties and become legislative candidates from political parties.
Bamsoet while attending a national working meeting (Rakernas) Srikandi PP, in Jakarta, Saturday (3/3), said the Srikandi PP, is the women who are active in the organization wings Pemuda Pancasila, so need to join the political party to become candidates.
"As a candidate, the PP Srikandi will compete in the 2019 general election, to become members of the legislature," he said.
Golkar Party politicians are reminded; women should also be able to play a role in national development through parliament.
Bamsoet also hopes, Srikandi PP can be actively involved and how much in the structure of the political party stewardship.
Because in the Political Party Act, he said, to regulate eligible political parties to be election participants is a political party in its governing structure there are 30 percent of women," he said.
"Fulfill women's quota 30 percent in every political party Show Srikandi PP can do much for nation and state," said Bamsoet.
According to him, until now the participation of women in the world of national politics is still low, because there are still many women who are reluctant to enter politics.
In his note, in the House of Representatives, only 97 female members or about 17 percent of 560 members of parliament for the period 2014-2019.
Bamsoet sees that women are still experiencing disparities, among others, in education, social, political and economic.
"Srikandi PP whose activities specialize the problems of women, must be able to answer the imbalance," he said.
Bamsoet also reminded, Srikandi PP to be able to contribute to providing political understanding of women, especially in the regions and rural areas.
Moreover, he said, nowadays more and more social problems such as, the dangers of drugs, domestic violence, and hoax information, so Srikandi PP is required to play a social mission to contribute to overcome these problems.
