PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri Gives Public Lecture of IPDN

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Indonesia's fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri is scheduled to give a public lecture at Jatinangor Institute of Internal Affairs (IPDN) Campus, West Java, on Thursday (8/3/2018) after receiving the Honoris Causa Doctorate degree from the campus.
"After the graduation ceremony Honoris Causa Doctorate, the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri will give a public lecture in front of all IPDN students," said Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo to media crew, in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/3/2018).
IPDN will award a Doctor Honoris Causa to the fifth President who is also the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Struggle Megawati Sukarnoputri over the womanhood of Soekarno's daughter in the enforcement of democracy in the country.
Tjahjo said that as a nation figure, input and direction from Megawati is needed, especially for IPDN to be better in the future.
"Moreover, it can be said that Mega's mother is a historical actor in the beginning of the reform era in Indonesia, we can review that in the era of reformation it is the mother of Megawati, the emergence of BPJS idea Megawati mother, the emergence of amendment of the Constitution as well," said Tjahjo.
According to Tjahjo, the award of Doctor Honoris Causa from IPDN for Megawati was delayed for more than 1.5 years. He said this honorary title becomes more special, as it will be granted to coincide with International Women's Day which falls on Thursday 8 March 2018.
Tjahjo further said that the father of Megawati, Soekarno or Bung Karno, the first President of RI also cannot be separated from IPDN. He said Bung Karno was the founder of the Pamong School.
"The school of the country's servant was founded by Bung Karno, so in order to commemorate the services of Bung Karno, in all IPDN campus we will also establish Bung Karno as the founding father of IPDN," said Tjahjo.
