INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi asked the manager of the Grab taxi application to be responsible for the incident that happened to Yun Siska Rohani who was killed by Grab driver.
"The applicator has not come here yet, should be the responsibility of his fellow human beings, must give his responsibility because this is a huge loss for his family," said Budi while visiting the residence of the late Siska in Pesanggrahan, Jakarta, Sunday (25/3/2018).
Budi said it should have applicators take a firm step in recruiting prospective drivers.
"There should be a 'screening' track record of what kind, with face to face so we know the prospective driver qualified or not, should be done, recruitment should be good not perfunctory," he said.
Budi promised to improve the safety and security system of taxis both online and conventional because it is a basic need to transport.
"Guarantees must have a commitment with the community, how to serve the community with the totality, later people are wary of women and especially have to travel at night," he said.
He also will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to conduct surveillance system through "dashboard".
"So we know where the recruitment is good or perfunctory," he said.
Budi also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and tried to prevent the same incident from happening again.
"On behalf of the government, we are here to express our deep sorrow to Mr. Supandi, the parents of Mbak Siska, may the soul of the deceased be accepted by Allah." We know this is a very painful event, should be a lesson of taxi stakeholders and I will do the next thing," he said.
On the same occasion, Supandi, as the victim's parents, hopes that the government will evaluate that the sad incident will not happen again.
"I am as a victim's parents, the first hope of the incident does not happen again, both from the Grab and the government to improve communication for the better, especially for drivers and consumers feel safe and comfortable," he said.
He got news of his daughter having died murdered in the hands of the driver Grab from Bogor Police report that came to his residence on Sunday (18/3) then at 14.00 pm.
"I learned from the Polres information came here, Sunday at 7 o'clock was found, at 14.00 came here," he said.
Yun Siska Rohani's body was found in Cibinong Griya Asri, Bogor on Sunday (18/3), Yun who used to work as a wedding organizer or wedding organizer left a four-year-old daughter.
