Increase Agricultural Sector Investment, Minister Deregulates 141 Rules

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman said, until now it has done a deregulation of 141 rules that are considered impede investors in the field of agricultural sector into the country.
On the sidelines of the inauguration of the echelon I officials of the Ministry of Agriculture in Jakarta on Monday, the minister said that 50 other regulations are also in the process of deregulation.
"So there will be 191 rules that hamper our deregulation investment to attract investors," he told media crew.
The ease of investment, according to Amran, could increase exports. He claims investment in the plantation and livestock sector has now increased.
The minister said in 2013 investment and export in the agricultural sector reached Rp23 trillion, therefore with the deregulation is expected to double or Rp46 trillion.
According to him, the government's policy to deregulate the rules that impede such investment in response to complaints submitted by investors so far.
"Potential investors complain that we (the government) immediately revoke the regulations that hinder them," he said.
In addition to revoking a number of regulations, he added, there are as many as 15 regulations that are simplified to become one regulation.
Related form of the regulation, Amran said, later in the form of Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture (Permentan), while for the regulations related to other ministries have been coordinated together.
Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman inaugurated two echelon that are Syukur Iwantoro officials as Secretary General of Kementan and Suwandi as Director General of Horticulture, as well as an expert staff, Hari Priyono as Expert Staff of Minister of Agriculture Investment Division.
Previously Gratitude Iwantoro served as Expert Staff of the Minister while Hari Priyono as Secretary General of Ministry, while Suwandi is the Head of Data and Information Center of Ministry of Agriculture.
The Minister expressed hope that this inauguration could encourage the national horticulture production to improve so that the price at the consumer level could be more stable and not burden the public.
