Allianz ikut berinvestasi USD 35 juta atau Rp 481,63 miliar dalam putaran pendanaan terakhir Go-Jek. Allianz menyalurkan pendanaan melalui unit bisnis investasi digitalnya, Allianz X.
INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Multinational insurance company, Allianz, invested USD 35 million or approximately Rp 481.63 billion in the last funding round of Go-Jek. Allianz channeled funding through its digital investment business unit, Allianz X.
With the funding, Allianz became the only international insurance company holding Go-Jek shares. As is known, the last funding round of Go-Jek also involves several major companies such as Google, Tencent, JD, Meituan Dianping, Temasek, Blibli.com, and PT Astra International Tbk.
CEO of Allianz X Nazim Cetin stated that the investment of Go-Jek is the first investment made by Allianz X in Southeast Asia.
Allianz's strategic investment in Go-Jek is our commitment to develop the growth of digital business, especially in emerging markets, he said in a press release on Thursday (12/4/2018).
According to him, Go-Jek has successfully proven his track record as a company that provides transportation, logistics, and payment services. And we want to support the sustainability of their growth, he said.
Allianz Life Indonesia President Director Joos Louwerier says Go-Jek has been transformed into a huge on-demand service provider. Go-Jek, which started as a ride-hailing app, also expanded its service to the logistics, payment, and mobile-based food delivery business.
Allianz X's decision to invest in GO-JEK is one proof of Allianz Group's strategic move to grow the digital business, says Joos Louwerier.
Through the investment, Allianz plans to provide more financial products to the communities within Go-Jek.
Go-Jek is a digital unicorn in Indonesia, through this investment, Allianz and Go-Jek will further strengthen collaboration. Together we can offer unique financial products and services to the broader Go-Jek community. "
Allianz Indonesia and Go-Jek have been working together since two years ago. At that time Allianz Indonesia initiated the availability of health insurance products for Go-Jek's driver partners.
Go-Jek now has over one million registered driver partners in the app. In addition, there are more than 150,000 food sales partners integrated with Go-Food services. All services available within the Go-Jek app are available in more than 50 cities in Indonesia.
