INDUSTRY.co.id - Yogyakarta - Logistic Affairs Agency Regional Division of Yogyakarta Special Region able to absorb up to 1,000 tons of rice per day.

"The absorption is still running and the percentage is quite high, the highest absorption can touch 1,000 tons per day," said Head of Logistics Agency (Bulog) DIY Division Ahmad Kholisun in Yogyakarta, Monday (23/4/2018)

Until now, he said, the interest of farmers to sell rice to Bulog DIY is still high. To attract the interest of farmers Bulog still apply the purchase at a price of flexibility with a maximum of 10 percent of the government's purchase price (HPP).

"We are still using the flexibility pricing approach tailored to the good quality of rice," he said.

According to him, the applied rice price flexibility scheme will select the rice quality of farmers. If the quality of rice is guaranteed to be good and farmers put up with prices above the HPP, then Bulog would not mind buying.

Since the beginning of the harvest season from January to April 10, 2018, according to him, Bulog DIY has absorbed 8,960 tons of rice farmers from the target of 50,000 tons in 2018.

Although in general the uptake is evenly distributed, he said, the most dominant absorption is still from among farmers in Sleman Regency followed by Bantul regency.

The stock of rice stored in the Bulog Divre DIY warehouse until now reaches 18,960 tons which is expected to be sufficient until August 2018.

Therefore, he ensures the supply of rice to meet the needs of the community ahead of Ramadan until Lebaran 2018 safe. (Ant)
