INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council Zainut Tauhid Saadi invites people to respect the legal process termination by the police (SP3) on cases involving Rizieq Shihab.

"Respect the legal process and entrust the problem to the party has the authority for it," said Zainut in Jakarta, Monday (18/06/2018)

He said police investigators have the authority to stop a case of alleged criminal offense. It is a common and frequent case.

He said the MUI appreciated the decision.

"Although we do not yet know the exact reason for the termination, we have not read the verdict, but we believe police investigators have a good reason for it," he told media crew.

Indeed, in the provisions of the law, he said, SP3 can be issued if the alleged act is not a crime, but a civil action.

Or, he added, SP3 can be issued by the police if the evidence is not present or less.

And a case, he said, can also be stopped through SP3 for the sake of the public. For the case, SP3 can only be conducted by the Attorney General with the consideration that if the case is tried will disrupt the public interest.

He appealed to the public not to develop the allegations that could cause a commotion.
