INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi appreciates all parties who reportedly have managed to find the unexpected object of KM Sinar Bangun in Lake Toba, North Sumatra.
"I appreciate Basarnas, TNI and Polri, the people have worked together that have succeeded in finding the objects that KM Sinar Bangun suspected, but the information related to the findings should still be clarified further," said Minister of Transportation in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday (25 / 6/2018)
Budi hopes the joint team in the field can immediately find the point KM Sinar Bangun which has been a week to sink.
Minister of Transportation stated that the ministry immediately made a number of steps in Lake Toba so that similar incidents do not happen again.
"I have ordered the Director General of Sea Transportation to bring the team to the field to conduct a 'ramp check' on the ships in Lake Toba," he said.
The things that become the focus of the Ministry of Transportation for the "ramp check" include ship construction, safety equipment and ship capacity adapted to ship certificates.
"The ramp check is mandatory and should be done 2-3 days, if necessary the vessel that has not been and who did not pass the ramp check should not operate," he said.
Later each ship that will sail in Lake Toba is required to get a Sailing Approval Letter (SPB) issued by the local Department of Transportation Officer.
