President Jokowi: Agriculture Do Not Just Rice, And Spices

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked the Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman not to continue to concentrate on rice business. He reminded, there are other commodities that have good added value that must also be developed.
"For example coffee, prepare a good seed for planting coffee, both in areas that already exist or not. Due to the increasing growth of coffee demand in Indonesia it is also very high increase, about 20%. The world is also similar-looking numbers like that, "said President Jokowi when opening Asian Agriculture & Food Forum (ASAFF), at the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (28/06/2018)
According to the Head of State, this opportunity for us because demand is very high rise. If demand goes up it means the price is also good. But the Head of State reminded, also do not bother-all of them grow coffee, because the price will fall together.
In addition to coffee, President Jokowi also ordered the Minister of Agriculture to plant spices. He reminded us, we were colonized because of our famous spices. VOC used to be here because of it. But now we have long forgotten.
"Last year I have ordered to the Minister of Agriculture for this restored again, Indonesia as a country of spice. Either in Maluku, North Maluku or in other areas," said President Jokowi.
He stressed, to not forget it, do not lose concentration, because this is a commodity that has good added value that must be developed together.
On that occasion, the Head of State invites to the Association of Indonesian Peasant Harmony (HKTI) to continue to work with the government in bringing real welfare for the farmers of Indonesia.
"Keep giving information, giving inputs and cooperating with the government in implementing various programs that end is improving the welfare of farmers," concluded Head of State.
Appeared to attend the occasion include the Chief of Staff of the Presidency as Chairman of the Indonesian Farmers Contact Association (HKTI) Moeldoko, and Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman.
