INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Founder of Survey Institut Kedai KOPI Hendri Satrio said that the figure of Tuan Guru Bajang (TGB) Zainul Majdi can fulfill the shortage of electoral base of support of Joko Widodo which is considered by society less religious.
"From the results of KOPI shows that public perception considers Jokowi less religious then the vice president candidate should be taken is a santri figure, TGB is in the criteria," said Hendri Satrio in Jakarta, Friday (13/07/2018).
He reminded that the TGB figure is the only great scholar who became governor of two periods so it is believed to have a large real electoral base.
According to him, actually the figure of Jokowi who will advance as a presidential candidate does not require too much electoral support from his vice president. However, the selection of candidates should still be a major concern because if wrong, can be fatal.
"TGB can attract large elections, for example in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) which has 3.5 million votes, if 50 percent to Jokowi, then the rest is obtained through the TGB figure, thus strengthening the voice of Jokowi," he said.
Hendri said that TGB heavy competitors in the vice presidential exchanges there are several names, such as Ma'ruf Amin, M. Romahurmuziy, Muhaimin Iskandar, and Mahfud Md.
According to him, Ma'ruf Amin, Romahurmmuziy, and Muhaimin have a large electoral base. In addition, Mahfud Md. assessed still less.
If the TGB is compared to Ma'ruf Amin because both are leaders of Islamic mass organizations, according to him, the TGB figure is likely to be chosen Jokowi to be vice president.
"The interests of his choice are more political, meaning how the government goes on after Jokowi finishes in 2024," he said.
Hendri assess Jokowi will calculate carefully so how after the completion of the President, the programs that have been running for 10 years followed by his successor.
According to him, Jokowi will choose the figure of the young but strong elektoralnya base, TGB enter the criteria for not to repeat, such as the era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
"Jokowi certainly does not want to be like SBY, appoint Boediono as vice president but in the 2014 presidential election does not want to go forward so SBY programs for 10 years lost," he said. (Ant)
