INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta-Ministry of Religious Affairs ensures that the losses suffered by prospective Umrah pilgrims PT First Anugerah Karya Wisata or First Travel is the responsibility of the company, although the travel agency's business license has been revoked.
According to the Head of Data and Information Center of Ministry of First Travel, Matsuki is still obliged to return the funds of prospective pilgrims who failed to leave for the Holy Land. In addition, First Travel is also required to dispatch prospective pilgrims through other travel agencies.
"Because of the pilgrims directly to First Travel, this obligation is a mere consequence because the Ministry of Religious Affairs is not responsible, we are responsible for saving those pilgrims who have paid directly to First Travel," he told media crew Sunday (13/8/2017).
Matsuki said the funds paid by Umrah pilgrims during this time directly into First Travel account.
"So, the refund mechanism and so on to be arranged for three months please," he said.
Eggy Sudjana as First Travel's attorney said that his party could not meet the losses of the prospective pilgrims because the company's permit has been revoked Kemenag. To that end, the government through the Ministry of Religious Affairs must take responsibility for the losses of prospective pilgrims. First Travel boss Andika Surachman and his wife Anniesa Desvitasari herself have been detained by police over suspect status of fraud
