Telkom and Krakatau Steel Confirm SOE Commitment Coming to the Country in Banten Province

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) and PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk, along with other state-owned enterprises in the province of Banten ceremony 72nd anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in Pantai Anyer, Banten Province.

Through the ceremony commemorating the 72nd anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, SOEs want to reaffirm the commitment to build the country and determined to have a positive impact on society. President Director of Telkom Alex J. Sinaga asserted, BUMN Program Present for the State is a synergy of all state-owned enterprises with the aim that the existence of SOEs can really be perceived benefits by all Indonesian people.

Meanwhile, President Director of Krakatau Steel, Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi explained that SOEs should make a real contribution to their presence to the surrounding community. This is considering the existence of BUMN one of them is intended to improve the welfare of the people of Indonesia.

After the ceremony, Director of Telkom Alex J. Sinaga along Director of Krakatau Steel Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi present awards to 20 students who have followed the program Banten Students Know archipelago. In addition, Alex specifically handed the symbolic Veterans House Surgery program to veteran member representatives.

Through the program Students Know Nusantara, Telkom together with Krakatau Steel has sent representatives to the students Banten Lampung Province for eight days starting on July 19, 2017. The representatives of students as ambassadors of the school and the area is expected to exchange information and knowledge about arts and culture, social and economy, so as to strengthen the sense of brotherhood, unity and national unity.

Furthermore, Telkom in cooperation with Kodam III / Siliwangi held a veteran home surgery program. The home surgery program is part of the BUMN program for the State to renovate the veterans' homes to become habitable. From the target of 150 homes by the end of this year, it has now finished renovating 75 veterans’ house units.

In the festive celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Telkom and Krakatau Steel on a healthy road trip that took place on Sunday also handed over Rp 2.34 billion of aid to the people of Banten Province. The assistance includes a facility Broadband Learning Center (BLC), help repair bridges and roads, water facilities, art galleries coaching support, assistance to underprivileged families as well as special assistance to the Bedouin community.

Healthy Way 5K organized around Town Square Serang, followed more than 20,000 participants and distributed 72 packages attractive prizes for lucky participants with the Grand Prize of two Umrah packages where each package for two people. This healthy road is part of the implementation of the #AyoBerjalan Movement which will be conducted simultaneously by SOEs in 34 provinces throughout Indonesia. In addition, at the Healthy Street event there are booths of state-owned enterprises and UMKM-built SOEs that display a variety of products.

The celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia was closed with entertainment events as well as typical independence day competitions such as Sack Racing, Tarik Tambang, and Panjat Pinang. This activity was followed by employees of TelkomGroup and Krakatau Steel as well as representatives of BUMNs in Banten and communities around Anyer Beach.
