National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) Helps Victims of Fireworks Explosion in Tangerang

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) participated in assisting victims of fireworks factory explosion at the Pergudangan 99 Complex, Kosambi Sub-district, Tangerang Regency, Banten.

"Each of our information responds with a quick review first.If a quick review shows that local disaster management 'stakeholders' are able to handle, BTB stands to monitor progress, but when urged, BTB takes part," said the Head of BAZNAS Disaster Response (BTB) Ahmad Fikri.

Through his written statement, received on Friday (27/10/2017) he said Baznas deployed an ambulance to help victims of fireworks factory explosion.

Meanwhile, Fikri said it is continuously working to help disaster-affected communities and also empower communities, including the marginalized.

Fikri who is also Baznas Active Service Leader (LAB) pointed out that his side has just built a bridge connecting Simpang Garut Village with Cempakasari Village, Tasikmalaya, West Java and Kasaba Bridge Sindangsari Village, Lebak Regency, Banten.

On October 18, he said the LAB received information through social media related reports of damaged bridges that have been obsolete by the Village Chief Simpang Garut.

"The LAB team responded immediately and on October 19 went to the location and checked the condition of the bridge which turned out to be pathetic and harmful to the residents, in the evening we were deliberating with the tools from the villages, sub-districts and sub-districts," he said.

On October 20, he said, the LAB team coordinates people to shop in Cipatujah area by traveling for 10 hours. By working together with residents, in a week of bridges to be used by 4,629 people in 1,279 families.

Baznas, he added, has also built Kampung Sawah Bangkit (Kasaba) which can be accessed by 2,600 residents of Kampung Sawah and Kampung Lebak Picung, Sindangsari Village, Lebak Regency, Banten. The bridge built over the Ciberang River becomes the only access for residents to go for a living, gain knowledge and other activities.

According to Fikri, BTB will respond to the field if the needs of people's lives are disrupted. In addition, if the local disaster management team is not optimally performing the tasks caused by a number of things such as lack of human resources (HR), cost, equipment, area or people affected very much.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Da'wah and Advocacy Baznas Farid Septian said it was intensifying the community development activities marginal.

"We are traveling to residents who live under bridges, roads, etc. And recently, we are working with a number of terminals such as Kampung Rambutan Terminal to hold da'wah activities," he said.

Farid said the activities of Baznas preaching through routine recitation was targeting traders, janitors, porters, motorbike motorbikes and online and so on.

"We want to change the image of the terminal that is often identified with criminality to be more humanist and religious, especially since the terminal becomes the center of the mustahic association of the poor, the poor and the traveler or the sabil," he said.
