Pertamina EP Committed to Achieve Zero Accident in Oil and Gas Activities

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), is committed to achieving zero accident in oil and gas operations and production activities by prioritizing health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) aspects.

"Zero accident is a common commitment, so the HSSE aspect is the foundation for all Pertamina EP workers," said PT Pertamina EP President Director, Nanang Abdul Manaf, in Jakarta on Wednesday (21/2/2018).

According to Nanang, HSSE is not only a slogan but must be implanted on everyone involved in oil and gas business activities so that it can grow into a culture. Moreover, upstream oil and gas industry is a very high risk industry, both investment risk and operational risk.

"Therefore, the application of Health and Safety or K3 has become an inherent obligation that must be met by upstream oil and gas industry to be sustainable," he said.

Pertamina EP's commitment to upholding zero accident commitment in the HSSE aspect of production operation activities is evident from the number of awards achieved by the company.

Throughout 2017, Pertamina EP won several awards, including two Corporate Performance Evaluation Programs in the Proper Management of Gold achieved by Field Rantau and Field Tarakan and 12 Green Proper from Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Pertamina EP also grabbed the Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama Adinugraha Award for the achievement of Happy Working Hours from the Ministry of ESDM and two Subroto Awards in the field of Oil and Gas Safety with Criteria of Safe Working hours, and Energy Innovation Field from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"Total Recordable Insident Rate in Pertamina EP reached 0.16 is the best result in the history of Pertamina EP as well as the best achievement in KKKS SKK Migas," said Nanang.

To further enhance the understanding of the HSSE aspect of all workers, Pertamina EP held National K3 Month Day 2018.

Various K3 month activities are filled with a series of safety related activities, such as emergency management, first aider training, fire drill, and intelligent race.

President Commissioner of Pertamina EP Syamsu Alam appreciates National K3 Month warning. "The activity invites all the workers to know more about the aspects of HSSE," he said.
